My favorite thing about camp is that I get to see friends ALL DAY LONG.
Ellyn and I got to play with Haley at breakfast.
It's Caroline's birthday today and she found me at chapel to say, "It's my birthday!" Gave her a friendship bracelet, got a pic and a birthday hug. Ellyn and I snapped our daily pic.
I LOVE all camp chapels. This week we get to all gather in the Green Cathedral three days in a row.
We headed off to Day Camp to play. Nikki and Alex shadowed Emily Parkes' trail group.
I spotted this little girl chomping on a bag of doritios at 9 am and got SO EXCITED because I was friends with her last summer. She friended Smoon, Arielle and I and then devoured an entire bag of Smooney's veggie fries. I was so excited to see her again and play with her all day.
I love watching the campers, counselors and CILTs play all day long. First we all went to chapel at the DC Pavilion.
We always finish with the Day Camp cheer.
Then the Blazers and Rangers took their trail group pictures.
Katie and Hannah are the daughters of two old camp counselors. I loved getting to play with them for awhile.
I followed these two little girls who were chasing butterflies in the field.
Then it was time for Cake Head with the Rangers. First they poured water on their heads...
Then they poured on the cake mix...
Next came two eggs and a whole tub of icing...
They were deliciously covered and sticky and gross all at the same time.
I ran into Maddie, Maggie, Christie and Natalie who had just been covered in paint.
Stopped in the CAC and got to see Smooney, Diggy and Ellyn.
Ellyn was in her element with all the clay projects.
Alli and I found a few more train groups busy painting.
Emma was having a ball with Hannah.
Riley was playing with Caden, Alli started giving piggy back rides and I chatted with some kindergarteners about their lunches.
Christie is precious.
After lunch we headed to the pool for swim lessons and free swim. I love CILT day because with so many counselors and CILTs almost every kid has someone to play with one on one.
Everyone grouped back up at the CAC for chapel wrap-up, the Joey O'Neil fashion show and the DC cheer.
Once the campers started leaving the counselors got to hang out with the CILTies again-- my favorite part of the day.
This fam-- they're the best. What in the world will I do when they all leave?
So much love for the CILT girls of session 2.
Nikki loves the selfies.
Everyone loves Allie.
I loved getting to see Lauren today and I'm always excited when Emma is around.
I can't describe how fun it is to be leading CILTs with Lizzie and Alli this summer. They're ridiculous and funny and wise and intentional and so great.
Everybody loves Alex too.
Emma and Alli do a weird dance together. I don't really get it...
I finally got to see Maggie Drake once we got back inside and Riley got the first care package of her camp life today.
Ran into some cool kids before I left on my night off...
I came back for devotions tonight. But when Alli got back from her night off the craziness really started. We woke up the girls in all 3 cabins after they'd been sleeping for about 30 minutes. Alli made all of them go into Choctaw for donuts.
They were more than a little confused...
Most of the girls really thought it was morning, especially after we told them we changed the times on their watches while they were asleep.
