Highs of the Weekend:
1. Aladdin Jr was PHENOMENAL on Friday. I went to the show right after school and got a front row seat. The group of narrators worked so well together. Lucy was a hilarious and animated genie. Nikki was such a charismatic "musical" addition with her confetti tossing. Kenzie blew us away as Princess Jasmine. The chorus was filled with so many of my students, FBC and WL kids that put so much energy, heart and enthusiasm into this production.
2. Rachel Phillips and I got to have a quick reunion Friday afternoon to talk all about Young Life and Wyld Life and her Spring Break hiking adventure and life at Purdue and all the good and hard things. I'm so thankful for this woman's heart and how she continues to inspire and lead so many people towards Jesus.
3. Hools came home from Alabama to watch Lucy as the genie this weekend. That meant that Maddie and I got to have a dinner date with her on Friday. It used to be such a common thing that the three of us would hang out, but these days it's extra special.
4. Saturday morning I got the treat of not only going to Cracker Barrel but going with KCraig and Jesse, Henry, Gavin, Troy, Sam, Dante and Justin. It was the first time any of these Junior guys had ever been to the wonderful world of Cracker Barrel and they were fans by the time they finished their hash browns, biscuits and pancakes.
5. Maddie, Wash, Cass, Liz, Gidget and Alex came over to help me Saturday morning. Especially in this season of life I believe, "Many hands make light work," so we all got busy tying friendship bracelets and notes to 270 wooden name tags that will be the name cards at the wedding reception in May.
6. Katie sent picture of Lincoln and Redford trying on their new fancy clothes that they'll wear as ring bearers at the wedding. They look so good!!!!
7. Justin and I got to have a double date with our friends Victor and Teresa on Saturday night that involved a cheese tray, lots of laughter and Victor's giggle, 6 rounds of Code Names, pizza and ice-cream and watching their greyhound Zombie run in the snow. You just can't ask for a better night than that.
8. Sunday we celebrated Justin's dad's birthday with a family brunch. I love their family birthday meal tradition and gathering around the table to sing Happy Birthday. I'm thankful for these people.
