Coloring with Slim Jims and Honey Boo Boo

Friday morning started bright and early with KCraig, Kaitlyn, Genna, Anne and Ellie. I love seeing how much these girls love Kathy and Abby and Wyld Life this year because of the experience they had last summer at camp. This morning we got to have such a candid conversation about some stuff that's going on in their lives and the lives of their friends. Hanging out with them was the best way to start my day.

Friday night Court invited me to come to her Comedy Sportz match at Cathedral. Picture Whose Line Is It Anyway? with two teams of four HS kids and an audience of their friends and family. Of course much of the Camp T crew was there since Cathedral is one of Tecumseh's favorite schools. Courtney did a great job on the blue team and we were so entertained.

So much fun with Katherine, Emma, Maddie, Olivia, Monica, Anna and Courtney tonight.

Saturday afternoon I hung out at the Jamfest downtown, a competition for cheer teams from all across the country. Three of my Young Life girls compete as well as tons of students and Wyld Life girls so it was the perfect opportunity to see them do something they're so passionate about and invested in.

And my goodness, these girls are good. It's pretty incredible to watch their routines-- music is blaring, girls are flipping and spinning, they're building pyramids and flinging girls to the top while smiling the whole time. I saw so many different groups perform but these Indiana Elite teams win my vote for the very best.

I  didn't tell Haleigh and Emily I was coming and it was so fun to see their surprise. We hung out all afternoon--cheering for other teams, fixing their curls, waiting in line for autographs from famous gymnasts and talking with their families. These girls are so talented, humble, kind and enthusiastic.

Watching Ellie's youth team was so cute to watch too and those girls are not lacking in talent either.

It was such a fun day in the intense, flexible, choreographed, spirited, glittery world of competitive cheer with Haleigh, Emily, Lexi, Butt and the rest of the girls.

Thankfully it's a three-day weekend so there is still so much time left for relaxing and hanging out. In case you haven't heard them yet, here are some of my new favorite songs I think you might want to check out.

Gone, Gone, Gone by Phillip Phillips

Never Want You Back Jackson 5 Taylor Swift Mashup by Chambaland

Not For A Moment by Meredith Andrews
