Tecumseh St, Yummy Bun and Quilt Planning

This was a spontaneous, go-with-the-flow kind of weekend. Best way to start a Saturday? Playing City with Emel. We walked up the Monon to Starbucks for necessary coffee, writing and people watching.

The best part was that Allison and Matt showed up after she saw my Instagram. We got to hang out for a little while before their next stop. Surprise visits from great friends are the best.

The adventuring continued to La Chinita Poblano for gourmet tacos and then a trip downtown to Crimson Tate.

We picked out fabrics for February Quilt Camp-- how do you feel about this blue/grey/green color scheme? I fell in love with this feather quilt that was hanging up in the store.

I got to hang out with Maddy for awhile this afternoon. She's been asked to lead a bible study of Junior High kids at her church which is a huge compliment to her character. She told me about her plans for the first couple weeks. Maddy is going to do an awesome job.

Right before Thanksgiving I got to go to Mexico to build a house with my YL girls Libby, Haleigh, Haley and their families including the Devoe's cousin Kayla. Since Kayla lives in Georgia we haven't all been together since that trip. But GREAT NEWS, Kayla came up this weekend for an IU visit.

Michelle Devoe took us all out to dinner at Izakaya. Libby and Kayla were basically twins, Michelle gave us these awesome necklaces to remind us of our trip and we were joined by Brett Cowan and all of his 7th grade best friends for his birthday party. You see, Michelle and Carrie Cowan figured out that they could join our two dinners to create this grand celebration.

Nothing like hanging out with some of your students and Wyld Life kids at a Japanese steakhouse.

Celebrate we did-- flying shrimp, stories from Ellie, boys making soda bombs that exploded all over the room, flaming onion volcanoes, telling old stories and trying sushi. It was a great night.

With different schools, sports, clubs and other responsibilities, it's so hard to find time to all get together. Getting to be with Haleigh, Libby, Kayla and Haley all at once was so fun.

We got to hang out with more of their friends back at home-- around-the-world ping pong, playing on our iPhones and taking more pictures.

This morning I got to go to "See Alli Kenney" one more time before she headed back up to St. Mary's. I've loved getting to see Lizzy and Sarah so often lately and Molly was home for the weekend too.

This afternoon I got to play with Emily, Sara, Rach and Dani for awhile. Dani got a new game called "Spot It" that I'm mildly obsessed with. You'll find it in a little yellow tin can. Sara broke out funfetti dip and cherry 7-up which equals a big day. I'm thankful these friends are so close by.

Tonight it's a party in The Fort. Everyone is home and Skipper even showed up to play too. We've got Chick Flick Sunday, some of Colleen's vegetable filled recipes, a cookie intermission and fun friends. We'll also be filing a petition to make the weekend longer. Who's in?
