"WEEK 9 FRIDAY YOLO NO RULES"

One last morning of baked oatmeal. Oh how I love Friday morning breakfast with a bowl of strawberries and blueberries.

Our girls kept completing funny challenges all through breakfast. The grand finale was to see who could get the most counselor autographs before Noah called for clean up. Mary Cate won with 17.

We watched cardboard testimonies for the last chapel of the summer. These stories are evidence that God is at work in the lives of people around us and in our very own lives. I loved seeing these counselor's stories this morning.

We've been taking surveys in FAB all week long. Here's what the girls had to say:

Things the Trading Post should sell:
pre-made friendship bracelets
knee high fun socks
Duct tape stuff
rain boots
clipboards for campers
fun hats
running shorts with Tecumseh on them
1 piece bathing suits
towels
potholder loops
fuzzy socks
spirit jerseys
fruit smoothies

Favorite Specific things we'll miss about camp:
fun counselors like Sarah Wright and Molly
cabin friends
FAB clinic
Oneida
songs at chapel
the blob and the lake
being yourself
Compassion Carnival
vanilla coke and Pibb Xtra
serenading

Reasons why it's awesome to be a counselor:
getting to be on the blobs for all of lake time
they get lots of friendship bracelets
you get to have lots of guy friends and it's not awkward
you have so many cool Tecumseh clothes
getting to know a ton of different kids and seeing them the next summer
teaching clinics
meeting new counselors and being friends
all the Diet Coke
not doing any work while the kids are cleaning the table
being able to drink the coffee
really cool wooden name tags
having your phone in your cabin
getting pop whenever you want
doing the Order of the Oar
you get to have 2 mattresses if you want

Things I learned this week at camp:
how to be more patient
to put everyone before myself
the diamond bracelet
the blender bracelet
to pray more and be closer to God
the I'm 3rd rule
it's good to overcome your fears
change can be easier if you go into it with a positive attitude
counselors are really easy to talk to
there's no vanilla coke in LV
all the clay in clay clinic is from the lake
how to dutch braid
how to be a better friend
how to make the V
how to do the 3 braid
patience

When the pop machine opens the Diet Coke addicts coming running. It's like the DC just calls our names.

Mary Cate and Erin Williams have been two of the main characters of my week. These two little girls can always make my day and I always love spending time with them. They're greater than they know and even as they grow up I hope they never really change who they are.

Country Line Dancing has been a blast with this group all week. It was the biggest CLD clinic of the whole summer which is pretty fun. We performed our dance to My Lighthouse after Trading Post tonight.
p.s. do you see Annabelle photobombing?

We got an awesome care package from Lauren and Kristen Johnson today with sweet notes and all of our favorite foods inside. I also got letters from my friends Kat and Maggie Kroeff which both made me so happy. We're lucky to meet so many phenomenal people through Tecumseh.

I ran all over River Village with the Choctaw girls this afternoon as they followed clues and completed challenges.

Then each cabin had to create a "helmet" for their counselor to protect our hair from a bucket of water. We looked pretty awesome.

We dressed up for 50's night for the last theme dinner of the summer. Arie, Ellyn and I could totally start our own version of the Pink Ladies or the Greasers.

Just like a 50's Diner, they served cheeseburgers, french fries, chocolate milk and chocolate ice cream for dinner. We listened to 50's music with a little Frozen and Taylor Swift thrown in at the end.

During Trading Post I hung out with all of my Blazer homies like Erin Williams, Ella, Lauren, Erin Dickett, Tia...

Meg, Daisy, Celia, Audrey and Mallory. All of these girls have been a huge part of my week in clinics, swim times, before lunch and every where our paths cross. They're all awesome.

Erin O'Awesome came back for campfire tonight and I got to be with 3 of my favorite Erins in the whole world at one time. If only Erin Smith and Erin King were here!

Lauren and Kendall are such sweet girls. Yesterday they promised to be CILTs in the same session with Erin Williams and Erin Dickett one day. They tried to make me promise to still be the CILT counselor but considering I would be 31 at that point, I'm not making any promises.

Erin O'Awesome and Anna Rademaker both came back tonight and we attacked them in the parking lot. They've only been gone for a little while but it's been way too long.

Country Line Dancing performed after trading post with a few other clinics. I love that so many kids get to perform in front of hundreds of people every week and they always get a standing ovation.

The Choctaw homies got ready for Closing Campfire and hung out on the Longhouse porch with Hopi as we waited for the horse parade.

Camp Tecumseh is my jam.

Week 9 we always start campfire off with TECUMSEH. This year I got to hold the T.

T is for... Teton, Trippers with Taylor Byrd, Tom and Tre Elliott, team building at the TLC, Todd, Tucker and Tommy Thompson, trust hikes, territory (Oregon), telling bed time stories from Cold Tangerines, tetherball, tennis clinic, Tom Turkey trying to Turkeyerize everyone, The Kokomo Longhouse, three sessions of two weeks of CILT fun, tangled gymp and friendship bracelet string, Three House Tree House, taking turns singing songs at flagpole, Tippecanoe River float trips, tshirts and tanks from Trading Post, ten weeks of having fun, tornado bracelets, Turbo Tubes, #tecumsehtuesday, ten campers in every cabin, tons of refills on pizza day and tearful torchbearers crying tonight.

An awesome crew of counselors got their very prestigious Third Year Green Jackets tonight. This is a very, very big deal.

I got to watch all of my favorite clinics perform one more time: River and Lake Hip Hop, River Drama, Show Choir and Step Clinics. I love getting to cheer for campers up on stage and see them do something so awesome that they learned in just a week.
