"What are the chances you can make it an extra credit assignment for all your students to follow me on Instagram? I really need 800 followers so I seem cool. 800 screams cool."

Saturday night I picked up Liz, Julia, Hannah and Leah to go to a concert downtown. We stopped for Chipotle first and in walked KCraig's family while we were eating our burrito bowls. Not long after, we were finding our seats in the Pepsi Colosseum and waiting for Sidewalk Prophets, Mandisa and Casting Crowns to take the stage. Huge fans of all the groups, we'd been so excited for this concert.

Casting Crown's Thrive tour is covered with image of a tree--both the branches and the roots. Mark, the lead singer, shared between songs,

There are some people that are above the ground people, and some people that are below the ground people.
But as Christians we've got to be both.

You can't know enough to know God. And you can't do enough to know God. Jesus is the only way to know God.
We're called to do two things-- love The Lord your god w all your heart and all your soul. Then love your neighbor as yourself. Dig in and reach out. We've got to do both.

John 21--That's your homework tonight. Go home and read it.
The boats of these fishermen start sinking because they're so full of fish. That happens twice to these same guys.
Jesus steps out into their boat.

Then he tells them to put their nets out on the other side. They realize something bigger than fishing is going on right now. Then they leave their nets and go with this guy. Blind people aren't blind anymore. Deaf people aren't deal anymore. Dead people aren't even dead anymore. This was incredible.
Then they take Peter out and he walks on the water. These guys couldn't believe everything they were seeing.

But when Jesus had has darkest night Peter denied him three times. When Jesus died only one of his guys showed up.
But when he came back he went looking for his guys. Cause that's what Jesus does. He goes after us. He finds them shaking and hiding in a room so afraid.

Peter goes back out fishing. They weren't catching anything. A voice told them to switch their nets over again. They were so full they couldn't even pull them back in. His friend had to say, that's Jesus. A light went on.
Peter jumped in and started swimming to Jesus. He was waiting for him on the beach. He made him breakfast and made him a fire. Jesus said if we need to do all this again we will. I didn't do this because you're good. I did this because I am good.

Even though today is dark, God is still good in those dark times.

"So when you're on your knees and answers seem so far away. Your worlds not falling apart, it's falling into place.Stop holding on and just be held"

Going to concerts with my youth group friends was one of my favorite parts of High School. The words of songs from Toby Mac, Superchick, Chris Tomlin and David Crowder Band had a profound impact on my faith and my character. I love that these artists are having that kind of impact on these girls. We got up to dance as soon as we heard the first notes of "Good Morning" and almost lost our voices as we screamed "Stronger" and "Overcomer."

When I lived with Colleen and Emel we'd have Chick Flick Sunday every single week. The three of us would gather downstairs, Molly Henry would come over, someone would make a dessert and we'd watch a new chick flick together. I tried to keep the tradition going when I moved to Fishers last year but after a few times it kind of died out as girls were busy with homework they'd procrastinated.

But Hannah Conrad has been bugging me to bring back Chick Flick Sunday and today it had quite the comeback. Seniors Lauryn, Mad Cav, Sam, Hannah, Natty B and Kylie joined the Sophomores Leah, Hannah, Caroline and Julia at my apartment. Julia brought cupcakes and brownies, Sam brought lemonade and we all watched 27 Dresses even though we didn't pay attention to the movie all that much.

I inducted all the girls into the Best Friend Necklace club as they each made one for someone else in the circle. There's something about working on a project like this together that makes people connect and talk and laugh more than they would otherwise. I loved having this collection of two different ages, girls that are all part of YL in one way or another, come together for the night. They're already talking about how they can't wait for next week. I can't wait to see if they really end up wearing their necklaces to school tomorrow.
