Spring Break 2k15-- first stop Michigan "Red wouldn't be in a gang, but he could run one."

I drove to Holland, MI right after school on Friday. I had to get a quick peak of the SIB cottage and Dimnent Chapel-- my two favorite places on Hope's campus.

Sarah Battaglia, one of my best friends, came over from Champaign to quilt for the weekend. (Check out the quilt blog post from Saturday to see all of our projects.) Dave and Beth took us to a special breakfast at DeBoer's Bakery for some scrumptious, delicious treats.

Sarah, Bethie and I quilted all day to make two baby quilts and even start a special third quilt of friendship bracelets.

Saturday morning I met Katie, Linc, Red and their friends Angela and Amanda at a special Easter Egg Hunt in Hudsonville.

There were hundreds of kids ready to hunt with their Easter Baskets. We watched three different egg hunts by age-- Lincoln went first with kids 0-4. Then Angela went with 5-7 year olds. Last Amanda got to go with 8-10 year old kids. Everyone got plenty of eggs, candy and tickets.

We came back to grandma and grandpa's house in Holland to eat lunch, take naps and play outside with grandma on the scooter and bikes.

Both boys love playing outside and racing up and down the driveway or going on walks. Red would be happy to sit in his wagon outside all day long.

Shauna Niequist, author of Cold Tangerines and one of our very favorite writers, has a list of go-to restaurants in Grand Rapids, MI.  Saturday night the whole family visited The Green Well, one of her favorite spots on the list. Linc and Red both started with chocolate milk because that's how they roll.

All of our food was delicious. Linc and Red split the "BEST SOUP IN THE WORLD!" and our waiter even gave Linc some to take home. Dad got a dish called Beef and Blue...

Mom got the Green Well Salad, I had a Chicken Chopped Salad, Katie got Shauna's favorite Michigan Harvest Salad and we all shared some sweet potato fries.

We had to try their dessert special too-- blueberry shortbread with strawberries and lemon custard.

Sunday morning we all went to church together at Central Wesleyan before going to grandma and grandpa's for Easter dinner.

The Easter bunny left an Easter basket for Lincoln to find...

Lincoln can't even contain his joy. Redford is the cutest little guy who is really into growling and laughing and being chill these days.

And you can never have too much fun riding bikes, rolling in the wagon, zipping on the scooter, running from monsters and drinking Diet Coke.
