Words

Tonight Young Life had a worship night and it was awesome. Tyler played guitar and was so good at leading these kids in the act of worship. He pointed out to us last week that these kids are hungry for worship--they love these songs and quickly learn new ones. They're listening to them in their cars and begging for 10 more songs every week at Campaigners.

So we sang and it was good. We read scriptures and they were words I needed to hear and they reminded me of more words I've been thinking about lately.

...

But he's already made it plain how to live, what to do,
what God is looking for in men and women.
It's quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor,
be compassionate and loyal in your love,
And don't take yourself too seriously—
take God seriously. Micah 6:8

...

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

...

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. James 1:2-3

...

And don't be wishing you were someplace else or with someone else. Where you are right now is God's place for you. Live and obey and love and believe right there. 1 Corinthians 7:17

...

Maybe these were words you needed to hear tonight too.

I want more nights like this. I want my life to be about living for Christ, about spreading his truths, and being passionately following after him in all that I do.
