Friday morning while everyone else was getting ready, Kat and I went on a Starbucks run. We think Starbucks makes everything more fun.
The first thing on our agenda was a brunch with all of Sarah's female friends and relatives that had already arrived. Her Aunt Meg put the whole thing together and it was so beautiful and fun. We got to know new people at our tables while we ate and Sar got a book full of notes and pictures from everyone.
Sar's girls (pictured above L-R): Caitlin (Sar's friend from YL Student Staff that lives in Texas), Lindsey (HS friend), me, Sar, Michelle (college friend and roommate in Alpha Chi), Kaylee (college friend and roommate Junior year), Mary Ellen, (college friend and Carmel YL leader), Kat (Ben's sister who is a HS Senior)
The whole wedding party plus out-of-town friends had a surprise adventure on Friday afternoon. We all went to an indoor trampoline park together!
The building is filled with these giant trampolines. We're really good at jumping.
It was so fun to have all of these friends together just having fun. We got everyone to play a couple games of dodge ball together which was pretty awesome.
After a quick pit stop for milkshakes we raced back to the hotel to get ready for the rehearsal. Everyone met at the church to run through the ceremony. Jack, one of the officiants, pointed out that this time was one of the most sacred because these people are the ones Sarah and Ben are closest too, that they want to play a special role in their day. It was kind of crazy to see Sar walking down the aisle, making it all seem so real.
We practiced our line up and walking in and out of church. Don't you love these ribbon bouquets?
I spent almost every second of the weekend with the bridesmaids. Kat, Michelle and Mary Ellen are great and I loved doing this with them.
As soon as we finished practicing and going over the schedule for the next day we all headed to the rehearsal dinner at an Italian restaurant nearby. Ben's parents welcomed everyone to dinner first. At the end of the meal we watched a Sar and Ben slide show and heard toast from some of their family and friends.
The night was still not over, everyone headed to Pinstripes next for more dessert, hanging out and bocce ball. Kaylee, Mary Ellen, Michelle and I discovered that we really love bocce ball and we think we're pretty good at it too. Ben's mom Julie was the most excited about playing and we took our cues from her. After we'd finish a game we'd all say, "Just one more," until we enthusiastically played the whole night and hogged the lane.
Sar and Ben are precious. They love each other well. They're best friends. They point others toward Christ. They include everyone. THEY'RE GETTING MARRIED TOMORROW.
