Heaven Is For Real

Earlier this week Maggie, one of my 7th grade girls, asked if I wanted to go see Heaven Is For Real with her and some other girls. I hadn't read the book but I wanted to see this story and jumped at the chance to share that with these kids. Tonight I met up with Rachel, Kate, Elise, Maggie, Soph, Lucy, Maddy, Lulu and Grace at the theatre to see Heaven Is For Real.

Let me say first of all that I absolutely believe that heaven is for real. I'm confident that if you follow Christ that one day you will be with Him forever in heaven. I'm also sure that the bible says, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him." So while I think that this movie is an incredible story, it's hard for me to totally buy into it. A little boy named Colton may have very well had an experience where he saw a glimpse of heaven, but turning it into a book and a movie has probably changed or exaggerated what really happened.

With that being said, I love that there are movies being made about faith that people are excited to go see. I love that this has already sparked conversations about what heaven may be like one day. This is a movie about faith and family and hope--all great things. I would definitely recommend making time to see this.
