Welcome to Summer 2017 my friends. The CILT crew showed up a few days early and encountered some crazy news... the pool got this new slide, the copy machine can 3-hole punch and we now stack chairs SIX high.
I got to stack some rocks and run with deer in the Pine Forest.
We had a special songfest on Staff Training Eve.
The whole staff arrived Friday morning at 11am. I changed my name to Ellyn too, it was about time.
I got to try out the slide at the pool after I got my blue band-- it lives up to the hype.
Opening Campfire was a hit-- Pigs In A Blanket, fidget spinners, lax bros and so much more.
We have all kinds of sessions during staff training-- I find the results from this staff alumni session fascinating.
We do mixers with Neal to get to know people and laugh a lot because that's fun.
For the first time ever we used Kahoot to go over the personnel policy-- game changer.
We have chapel every morning and it's one of the best parts of the week-- new skits, new songs and messages geared to the staff. "You have called me higher, you have called me deeper and I'll go where you will lead me Lord."
Hands down, the best part of the week is Nature Day. We hike to every corner of camp, make firs, set up hammocks, cook hobo dinners, identify plants and get all of the steps.
And we play with chickens too...
Summer 2017 is looking good my friends. We've got five more days of staff training before a short break and then the campers arrive!!! Kids, we can't wait for you to get here.
