And we're back.

I've been back in Room 201 for a week now. Second semester is well on it's way and I have 125 brand-new students filling my seats during the day. New names, new routines, practicing procedures, learning how to work together. They're all just so darn quiet right now. 

One of my new favorite additions-- to get their attention I say, "Snape, Snape, Severus Snape," and in unison they all say, "DUMBLEDORE!"

There are new papers to grade.

New bulletin boards. In a classroom scavenger hunt they had to post things they're excited for this semester.

 

We've written a thesis for our 5 paragraph essay. Tomorrow will bring the challenges and excitement of our essay outline and a hook race. The anticipation is building.
